Established in 1967, La Trobe University now has around 26,000 students including approximately 3,500 international students. The university accords particular prominence in the fields of humanities and arts and biomedicine. It has also established language courses for teaching Sanskrit and Hindi, besides offering PhD programs in India-centric subjects. The University has 7 campuses in Victoria, namely, Melbourne (Bundoora), Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo, Melbourne, Mildura, Shepparton and Beechworth. Accommodation options are offered to students at the Bendigo and Bundoora (Melbourne) campuses.
